Micron Full System little problem...

Post by MillaMeter »

Hi,

Just replaced my Delkavic pipes with a full Micron full system, I've just come to a little problem when fitting it. Where the link pipe connects to the end can, it's rather rather close to the torque arm for the rear caliper. Anyone else have this problem? The pipe is like 3mm away from hitting it.

Regards

Rich

Standard systems have a recess for the torque arm in the pipe, so i guess hammer is in order.

On the sensible side of things, get the bike in the air so the rear suspension is fully extended and see if it touches it. If not its not gonna extend any further than that so should be ok, under compression the torque arm will be going in the other direction.

Have you got the exhaust in the correct position. My link pipe sits miles away from it.

Hi,

Any chance you could show me a picture of how far away your link pipe is away from the torque arm whilst the bike is on it's side stand with no weight on it?

Hi,

I've just had a butchers at me Micron downpipes, I don't know if this is right but the first downpipe (cylinder 1) has a slight bend in it like ) and cylinder 4 downpipe is pretty much straight. Also have I got the exhaust hanger on right?

Hi,

I fixed the link pipe being too close to the caliper arm, undone the exhaust clamps a lil, then gave the pipes a lil tug towards me. It twisted the pipes and is now clearing the arm.
