dont think bungs would have helped much even if you did have them!

I've tested SES (you can get them from A&R Racing online, or from SES directly) a few times on my race bike, and they've stood up well. You can also get new plastic inserts for them. Same guys who do the standard racing rearsets.

have a look at these from Metisse, a bit more expensive but the ideas good.

you take the top two engne mount bolts out and replace them with longer ones that hold the bungs in place. Dont think we have had anyone here 'test' them so to speak. I think scott had them but he didnt have that kind of accident.

I thinkt he rumour of breaking mounts depends on the brand, R&G mushrooms are designed to bend, so should hope they do that before anything breaks.

there was a review on all the crash mushrooms in the most recent copy of performance bikes i think.

DHM got a pretty good review.

R&G got 'best looking' award which i beleive says alot. They are basically over priced and sell well based on clever advertising.

Most are manufactured from Delrin or 66 Nylon the rest is just fancy bits to sell them.

ive crashed the race supplies direct ones at 60 or 70 mph, took most of the hit, slight bend in my rearset, slight fairing/swingarm/etc damage, nose cone and screen in a million peices... other bits of damage. but was out in the second race so nowt to bad. It did'nt dig in and flip the bike, just skidded along... i did'nt even need a new bung. so 10 outa 10, and there cheap too.
