tbh i wouldnt trust the TL over 200 miles, in the last 5,000 miles i've had the bikes striped more times than my 15 year old ZXR's put togeather. Just so many diffrent problems with it all the time. You read the TL fourms and everyone is happy that there brakes are spongy, and oil seals giveup every few 1,000 miles because there "common faults" just because there common dosnt make it fucking ok :@

my zx7r has driven me up the wall and down again with its brakes, but tbh, u do get used to the spongyness!

lol,
got to admit, my experience of suzuki's, SRAD 600, SRAD 750, sv650, pretty much bears out what you are saying, 10 years newer than my zxr's, and all manner of general knackerdness.. the 750 was ok (it was near as dammit mint) didnt stop itself rubbing through the loom and setting fire to itself though.

I've put on a racing MC and braided brake lines gem. The MC helped a lot but the acutal problem is the 6pots. If i was going to keep the bike longer (just feed up of it now, going to de track the ZXR7 and use it again) I think i'll be chaging them to the 4 pots you get on the Bandit1200 ect as a few people have told me that helps a lot.
Answer is as long as you have the 6 pots then your brakes will be crap.

was nice though.. I managed to blag it for 3 days to do a "proper job" on the loom after fixing it up at the girls house .. 4000 miles on the clock, she bought it "cos it was pretty" and had never been over 100mph ..

there generaly nice handeling bikes they just really need to sort out there build quility. I've herd that the newer bikes are better but i wont be risking it. Next time i'll be going with what i know is safe, ZX10r here i come 
And gem i've always been a function over form man mainly because i do use my bikes on track and ride fairly hard on road all year round. I dont care if it looks dirty or the parts dont have all the brand names as they perform well.

I must admit, that i did try alot of things with my 6pots, but the sponge did'nt really go. they had power, but often at the expence of trapping your hand.rene wrote:I've put on a racing MC and braided brake lines gem. Now, i have the best brakes i have ever had on the zxr.with the standard mc too. they need drilling the same as the 6 pots, but they are so worth it.
k1/k2 gsxr 600/750 callipers. pick up a mint set for under 50 quid, and you wont be sorry

never had a suzuki bike but have had to work on a few suzuki outboard motors and the build quality was never great with those either, good engines when their going though.

your modern suzukis are ok to be fair, k6 or higher and they are generally more reliable. my mates k6 aint broke yet lol but im rubbing my hands with glee for the day it does hehe, ill just give him a big told ya so.
