Charging battery with datatool alarm fitted

Hi All

Just wanting to pop my battery on a trickle charge, the bike has a datatool alarm fitted and the handbook says that the inline fuse for the alarm should be removed before hooking up for charge, my question is does this have to be done as im having trouble finding the inline fuse.

will the alarm not go off if there is fluctuation in the voltage from the battery so i would say yes you have to disconnect it. as for where? these installers have to make it hard otherwise anyone would disable the alarms.

the whole idea of optimate style chargers is that you can leave the alarm connected and not the flatten the battery. id leave it.

had a datatool system 3 and always stuck mine on charge with an optimate. Never removed the inline fuse, never had a problem.

Mine had the fuse on a wire coming from the starter solenoid, or follow the wire from the led it should join to the wire going from the fuse to the alarm unit

Btw mine was a veto system
