rattly engine?
do you know if they are prone to being rattly engines as mine sounds very cam-chain noisey but goes away when i open the throttle but sounds rough when i shut the throttle off...

whats it like when you pull the clutch in?

Its not the clutch thats a different sound mate its sounds more like a cam-chain rattle sorry i cant explain better..

What hes trying to say is, does it sound any different whent he clutch is pulled in? As the ZXR is known for its noisy clutches. If it goes quiet the noise is more likely to be the clutch than the cam chain. If its still just as noisy then you are probably right in that it may be the cam chain, in which case you will need to replace the tensioner.

Cheers guys pulling the clutch in does not change the sound there is a slight knocking from the clutch basket, were is the best place to get a tensioner..

in that case it could be the tensioner then. Check it first and see where the tensioner is sitting, if it fully adjusted then it'll need doing.

If you have a noisy cam chain it could well be that the chain needs replaced and the tensioner is fine .
Just because the tensioner is at it's full extenion doesn't mean that it is faulty.
