vibrating
just changed headgasket and camchain, now bike is running fine apart from vibrations at 7k revs, no vibrations below or above 7k. its smooth other than that.
running a full micron system, with race can, standard air filter, and 95 main jets
any ideas what it could be?

Re: vibrating
Does it sound like metal grinding on metal and happen more when you blip the throttle or let off fast ? how many miles has it done on the cam chain tensioner? did the teeth look worn ?

Re: vibrating
no, just vibrations
tensioner has done 25k miles, and it doesnt look worn. there were no vibes before i changed the cam chain
gunna have a look at the chain and tensioner tomorrow, possibly the cams too

Re: vibrating
It is automatic, but i believe you need to set the tension when you put a new one in.

Re: vibrating
yeah i reset the tensioner when i put the new chain on.
put the springs back in the bottom of the tensioner, then tightened the bolt that holds the springs in the tensioner. the tensioner took up the slack and is fine, i took the pick up cover off to have a look and it looks fine

Re: vibrating
Oh ok. Im sure you can overtighten it somehow tho.
A loose part somewhere? The tank cover on my first ZXR vibrated at a certain rev range and i thought it was the engine, just turned out to be part of the plastic cover against the tank. Maybe something similar elesewhere?

Re: vibrating
dont think you can over tighten you can on the lock bolt .
to be honest at that kinda miles id change it the teeth get knackered. take it out and see if you can push it up and down by hand
