Imagine that, in about 6 or 7 years time the first H models will be tax exempt! It'll be classed as a classic bike  :o

the zxr will never be tax exempt.

it used to be a rolling cutoff at I think 25 years, but it stopped at 1972 (so I guess the law was changed in 1997 - so blame tony)

however insurance companies probably will consider classics as anything over a given age

Be aware that if you're going to try for 'classic' insurance, they assume you spend all week rubbing it with a nappy and take it out on dry weekends.

Communting to and from work and high mileage will not be an option on the policy!

Does cleaning it with a nappy help? Or is that for wear? ;-)

I bought a '99 duati 750ss a month ago, still got my zxr and im keeping it, they make about the same bhp, so neither are up the jap 600s arses on the straights, but if it was a race i'd want my zxr every time,i piad £1800 for the duke fsh,2 owners,9000mls and £1200 for the zxr so the £3000 for a good 600 got me 2 bikes im chuffed with dont sell it you will only regret it. :smt011

The nappy helps on most powerful classics bikes.

It's for the first time you hit the drum brakes! :smt016

Well, it's been a while, so I thought I'd let you all know what I did...........

In March I part ex'ed the ZXR400 for a CBR600 FS (M plate) - totally different bike to the 400 - TOTALLY!!!

Getting used to it now, but miss the razor sharp handling of the ZXR, CBR is fun and quick, but not as racy as the ZXR.

So, now I'm looking at a ZXR750 L Model (94 plate) - going to take a look at her over the weekend hopefully.

I can't get away from the twin headlight retro look, old bikes just look loads better than new if you ask me, take a look at a 98 R1 compared to today's version, the 98 is by far the prettier bike and looks faster standing still.

Yep, I should have listened to you all, but you learn from your mistakes!!

Will let you know about the ZXR - anything I should look out for?
