Hi
Can someone please tell me what the normal current draw is on a zxr400h1,mine is giving me a reading of 0.466 I don't think this is normal
so it's killing the battery
Thanks

Re: zxr400h1 current draw
So this is ignition off, and you are measuring the amps drawn over the battery terminals correct?
The only things that can draw any current at a standstill are via the ignition, reg rec and the fuse box.
I would disconnect each and check for a drop in the current draw. If non is found after isolating all 3 components fully remove the battery and check for an internal battery short.

Re: zxr400h1 current draw
Hi
So I turned the ignition on] but not the switch ,had disconnected the negative cable and done current draw from that to the positive terminal
no sure if this is the right way to do this,? but had the battery tested today and it's dead as Dillinger, only charged the day before hopping this is all that's wrong, any advice on this is very much appreciated

Re: zxr400h1 current draw
OK, so redo that test with a freshly topped up battery.
Check current draw.
Then unplug the reg rec, recheck draw, any change?
Then unplug the fuse box, recheck draw, any change?
Then unplug the ignition completely, recheck draw, any change?
Post up these current draw amounts

Re: zxr400h1 current draw
Hi
Here's the thing put in the new battery and there is no current draw so started her up brought her to 4k
battery didn't go over 14.3 DC so I presume the reg rec is ok, and the problem was the new old battery ?
