Hi,
I was hoping someone would be able to help me see if a ZX6R radiator will fit with some if any modifications?
Or
Should I pay for mine to get recored?
If it is the record option where would you suggest?
Thanks in advance.

Re: ZX6R radiator to fit ZXR400 L3
it will fit with modifications...but the zx6r radiator is thinner and smaller than the zxr 400 radiator, and these little things get hot!
better off with a recore, aarons radiators is highly recommended, although ive never used them. also i think the zx6r uses and inline coolant temp sensor, and you might have issues bending your coolant tubes through the 90 degrees required for the zx6r radiator...you would also lose your connection to the oil cooler and probably to the engine/coil pack cover.

ZX6 rad on my ZXR racebike allows bike to run cooler both on short circuits and the Isle of Man...defo up for the job. Much cheaper and newer than any ZXR equivalent. For the 90degree pipe you just buy another 90 degree elbow and fit it inline beneath the elbow that comes outta rad using a small length of hose.

Re: ZX6R radiator to fit ZXR400 L3
I used a zx6r 1998-2004 radiator on mine.......I just tapped and blanked off the extra 2 x smaller inlet outlet pipes.
The fan switch is a straight replacement all be it on the rear of the radiator.
I also had to drill a extra hole to the zxr 400 fan mount bracket to fix the fan to the zx6 rad.
I used the pipes off zx6r j -a1p model the 2 larger pipes just trim to fit.
The zxr400 pipes are the wrong diameter at the rad fittings.
To mount the Radiator you just need to carefully adjust the main mounting lugs on the zx6 radiator they are quite malleable.
Im running ram air so needed to lower the rad below the intake snorkel.....Just bent the lugs more to allow the extra drop required.
all in cost me just over £100 for a new ebay rad and second hand pipe work.
