My cable broke. Thought it would be a simple swap but no it isnt.
I tried replacing the cable. Fit fine into the speedo drive then when it came to sticking it into the actual speedo it wouldnt fit. So I assumed that they sent me the wrong one. Got refunded and bought a new one. Now I have just tried attaching this one. Same again didnt fit. Got my forks fixed and gave the speedo to the mechanic which he said that the 'gearing' or something along those lines where the cable fits into the speedo is broken in the speedo so I need to replace that or get a new speedo.
I had a great idea just to swap my old kph clock gearing thing to the new mph one (thinking it probably wouldnt work anyway). So tested the cable first to make sure it fit.... it didnt.
all zxr400 cables are 2mm thick I believe so it doesnt matter what one you get they all should fit. What is wrong with mine? Is it the cable? Or the actual speedo?
would love it if someone could help as I can only thibk to buy 1 of every cable.... just encase to try them all....
Thanks,
Ben

What exactly doesnt fit?
does it not fit in the speedo drive hole?
Check the old speedo cable pin isnt still in the drive.

Square on the end near the clocks and got a two pin bit on the end near the wheel, circle with a slit cut out, definitely look like that, if not as cansa said, check their isn't anything broken off inside

The cable doesnt fit in the speedo drive hole on both the clocks.
its like its to big. The old cable fits in fine last time I tried! So actually I am assuming now that it is the cable :/
