Toe Guards?
Otherwise known as shark fins...what do they do/prevent/improve?

theyre to stop the chain taking your leg off.......well maybe not that extreme but its to prevent the chain from hitting your leg if it were to come off

Is it? I thought it was to stop bits of your body ( toes, legs, fingers) from being swallowed up by the still turning chain and the rear sprocket when you fall off and are unfortunate enough to stick bits of your body into that area whilst you and your bike head for the gravel
