From This, To This

Post by MillaMeter »

Hi,

I've put these pictures in order from when I first bought the bike to the present day. I've also added pictures of some addons I've made to the bike aswell.

She's come along way.... so let me know what you think.

Forgot to mention, I've been doing all these mods, upgrades, rebuilding etc... whilst riding her to and from work as she is my only mode of transport :smt003

Then I had my spill at work.

Couple of months later.... My engine decided enough is enough and started to give me signs/noises of I need repairing. Personally I don't like anyone touching my bike apart from myself. I dunno what it is, but I just don't like anyone else working/touching it without me standing there watching them do it. I just couldn't bare someone else taking my engine apart without me being there to watch. So I decided to do it myself. Bought a ZX400 1988 engine with all the toppings on top by accident, not knowing that they have non adjustable SP cams :smt003

Nah, my mate who is a mobile sprayer knocked up some paint for me and we sprayed them up in my mums back garden last summer. He can make any colour you want because he has 1 of these programs on his laptop that tells him how to knock up the colours. Flash git.

The crash bungs believe it or not I made myself on my dads metal lathe which I must admit was great fun lol. I think it was about £10 for the plastic rod then £7 for the stainless 170 bolts. Cheapest bungs I've seen hehe.

The purple bits where my fiances idea. Personally I think they look ok but I am thinking of polishing them to chrome in the near future.

Plently of elbow grease and autosol hehe.

They're not actually too bad, they do work....sort of. You have to really pull them in for them to lock up but other than that they do the job. Personally I would get a brembo MC 19x20 but I just can't afford £250 for 1. A really cool gadet to get yourself is a Double Banjo Bleed Nipple kit, Make sure it's stainless aswell other wise you'll be forever taking it off to clean. mine was £7 I think, it is alot for what it is but it makes bleeding the MC effortless.

Rich, firstly lovelly bike! Hats to you for completing all your work, wish I could do it. Do you have any close ups of the crashbungs and did you have to make any mods to the fairing at all.

Many thanks Paul

Hi,

Thanks :smt001 I don't have any close ups of the crash bungs but I can tell you that I did no mods to the fairings what so ever and If you're interested I could give you the exact measurements I used to make them.

Looks excellent, But I think I would have had the wheels the other way round... the white on the front and the green on the rear.

Hi

Oh it's not staying like that, i'm just waiting for the front tyre to be shot, then i'll take it to get powdercoated the same as the rear :)

I'm with arkell on the anodised bits, but apart from that it's a very nice example :smt023 will look good with a white front wheel too. Get some pics up when you get that done!
