I have used this guy for the last few sets of wheels I have had done - It's very inexpensive, he shot / sand blasts them beforehand, and the quality is excellent.

Hi,

Ewww sounds good, do you have any rough guide to how much he would charge me for all the bits and bobs to be done? How much does he charge per wheel btw?

Hi,

Here's a little update on the progress. Most of the brackets etc have been put into a box ready for gloss black powdercoating, next is to sort out the greys and then obviously the 2 wheels going white.

Hi,

I was going to get it chromed but then thought it's gonna be a bitch keeping it clean. So the frame is going to get powdercoated maybe grey, or gun-metal grey. haven't decided yet.

Think I'll stick to powdercoating it or might change my mind and have a go at polishing it.

Nice prices tho huh?

Hi,

Right just an update, everything has been sent off to powdercoaters today except the swing arm because I still haven't got a replacement for my butchered 1 so when I do get a replacement i'll have to take that back over and get that done. I used a company called watford coatings pretty good on prices too, wheels in at £30 each frame £60 subframe £50 other bits and bobs didn't get a quote for but can't see it being that much more than £40. Hopefully will get all the bits back on Friday so I'll be getting the camera ready.... can't wait :excited

Hi,

Yeah they do everything ready to take home and bolt on.

So progress done to the bike, It's all been powdercoated apart from the swing arm (which I haven't got yet) and the rear wheel as they couldn't stip it due to it already been powdercoated. So far I have polished the chain gaurd to a mirror which I'll show pics of later. I took all the paint off the rear wheel today with paint stipper :smt003 and loads of things have come through the post at lightning speed from our all time favourite Cradley Kawasaki.

Hi,

Yeah got a shed load to do, whats taking the longest is getting the new parts I need with lack of funds is slowing the process down :smt010 In order to get a rolling chassic I need set of front discs and swingarm. Trying get hold of 1 is like god dust at the min.

Anyway i've done some progress today, polished the chain gaurd, half way polishing the bottom yoke, frame clear laquered along with the subframe and some other bits and bobs. rear wheel stripped back to bear metal and sent off to powder coaters.

Here's my method of spraying a frame completely off the ground.

Nice,

Plastic coating does look good when it's fresh :smt016

Good job on the polishing too, looks like you took more time on the prep' work than me :smt005

BTW, I've a Black L swing arm somewhere - might be out on my North veranda. Should also have a complete bearing kit to go into it too.

Let me know if your interested in it - sorry I never picked up on your need before now vsad

Hi,

Thanks :)

Got to admit though, when the bits came back from the powdercoaters it just looked like they bought me all new parts instead of powdercoating them, they looked so new!

To be honest I'm not a big fan of polishing but the outcome is always breath taking, so it makes me carry on lol. At the moment the build is going stupidly slow because of lack of a swingarm. If I had 1 the bike would pretty much be a rolling bike by now.

How much would you be asking for the swingarm? Postage is gonna be a bit steep though isn't it? vsad
