website revamp

Post by masterofinsanity »

i'm thinking of revamping the whole site and forum over the next few months, mainly to combat the spammers of the world, as the amount of registrations by spammers is getting out of hand.

obviously this is going to take time especially with all the mods on the forum, gallery, arcade, chat, mouseovers, classifieds etc so if there is anything you want to stay or see on here then now is the time as it will probably be the last time i revamp it for a while.

Keep - Everything

Lose - Spammers :D

How are you going to do it mate?
Are you going to build the forum behind the scenes while this is still active, then imports the SQL DB in, then make the new site live?
Also, are you going use the new web2.0 skills?

you know how google has "search as you type" thing going on?
thats a web2.0 thing

For a decent look of a web2.0 site head over to http://www.northwestbikers.net/ and torrentleech.org.
Have a look at their updated site. Its very very funky :D

I agree with CaNsA, there's nothing wrong with the site as it is so no special requests from me. Hope you manage to defeat the spammers as it must be causing you no end of hassle.

on the "new posts" page, if possible a buttom to open threads in new tabs would be nice? on a laptop, manually going through each one, right clicking and new tabing is a pain (i hate laptops!).

but that's all i can think of.

busty babes drapped over zxrs down one side of the page? winks
I do 700 miles a week in all weathers including snow, that's roughly 35,000 miles a year, and some weekend warrior biker has the nerve to get out of his Audi at work to tell me to I was riding far too fast in the wet (over taking at 50... fast eh?).

S'all right for you young bucks. When my missus looks over my shoulder and I'm on here she just yawns and goes back to the telly. If she gets an eyeball of a load of breasts I'll be eating this computer. And what about me old ticker... oldman

ok i have uploaded the latest forum software it's not live yet but will be in a few weeks when i know all is working ok, due to the spammer countermeasures i will only install prosilver and subsilver styles so sorry if you are using the others but you will have to get used to the 2 default styles.
