race tyre size

hi guys im just wondering what rear tyre size is the best for racing im running a zxr400l and i am running slicks ive got a choice of a 165/ 163/ 160/ or a 155 alot of people say 155 but would that be 2 small? ive been runing a 165 and ive still got smooth edges on sides

It depends on what wheels you're running. On standard wheels most people run 160's, but some people have run the 165 Dunlop slicks to good effect. Even with the 160's you may still not run to the edge

Hey dude,
I have a 5.5 ZX6R rear rims in mine, run full size 180 section Metzeler slicks
Don't know if that is legal for your UK class rules tho
