Ceramic coating standar pistons??

Im rebuilding my engine at the moment for racing. Its got a good standard bore but the piston skirts have some heat marks and very slight ware. Give how hard it seems to be to get aftermarket race pistons im wondering if i got my pistons ceramic coated and put new rings on with a skimmed and ported head if it would be a success. Anyone on here done any ceramic work on their engines?
