Race Ready and mods

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Race Ready and mods

Post by Murray1992 »

Hi All :) im near enough built with my zxr L1track bike and wondering about the future and what to aim for.

so far iv done
-reconditioned front and rear callipers (stock zxr)
-braided hoses front and rear
-race ready loom (massive thanks to banner himself) *top man
-cbr600rr stick coils
-bbs ram air box (rmkd intake tube on its way)
-Bell mounts for carbs also has been set up for ram air box
-domino quick action throttle
-removed all road gear (horn lights etc)
-oil cooler bypassed (long hose has been connected to other point)
-zx6r radiator
-Nitron rear shock

so back to the question, can anyone tell me what are the
-best mods for engine ie oversized pistons, kent cams etc
-brake upgrades
-suspension etc

Many thanks :D

Hi I am just starting this process for a ZXR400L2 I've just purchased. going to be doing full engine refresh.

I am curious about the stick coil conversion you have mentioned (CBR600RR). Can you let me know if its a kinda plug and play or does it involve changing ECU and loom etc, and what's required to do this?
Thanks

Hi, sorry I didn’t get back sooner. The coils require a little wiring but it’s very easy to do (picture on Facebook forums) but it is simply plug and play, i purchased the sub loom and the coils for £50 made a few cuts to the sub loom and then good to go. Hope this helps.

Regards

Ben
