Radiator for H model - racing

Post by 400y »

Does anyone know if any other make of Rad will fit a H model?

I would ideally like a larger one than the standard or is this what is used for racing?

My 400H has some other type but was damaged on Sat, so just wondering what is a good fit?

Cheers

i thought that racers needed to tape up the radiators usually to keep heat in, you might find that you want a smaller radiator instead...

Maybe an L radiator can fit or be adjusted to fit?
The engine is the same, so you'd think the frame and possibly rad mounts would be too.

Do you have a piccy of your damaged one?

Thanks for the replys.

I just wanted to pick up another one as a spare - just in case.

I've just got the other one repaired and will get it fitted and running tonight.

Its been very popular over the years to fit 'L' model radiators to the 'H1' model....as you rightly say 'Wes' the engines are the same so its a simple job to turn the thermostat housing 180 degrees, for the top hose and the bottom hose is a straight fit.
The H2 radiator is a straight replacement for the H1 and is identical in size to the L radiator. A bigger radiator is a must for the H1 if you want to avoid overheating your race or track bike.

I'll second that
The H model rad is a small rectangle shape and is flat

The L model rad is at least double the size and it is curved

Could possibly knock some brackets up to make it fit, not sure how it would fit in the fairing though. I've got an L rad and thought about fitting it to my H bike but gave up when I held it in place, thought it would be too much work.
Shame cos it's in good condition
