Hoover Tubes??

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Hoover Tubes??

Post by zxr500man »

Hi ,
would it be possible to use the hoover tubes as ram air ,if you slightly moded them?

Like if they were the same diameter entering the original air box as they are where they are mounted to the fairing.

If the snorkel was blanked off,

surly this would pressurize the air box a bit.....?? or no?

Any thoughts??

How far into the airbox do they go?

Cant really do it on the H, because of the tank. You can do it on the L no probs.
On my h, i moulded a snorkle and stuck it to the front of the airbox and ran it over the rad as usual.. can result in setting up difficulties with air pressure because the carbs are outside of the box... i got mine working ok...
But, i only did it cos i had probs getting a h box. You can get them now.
Do yrself a favour and spend 200 quid on a airbox and bellmouth kit.

Dynopro racing in runcorn used to make all my stuff.
They did have a kit copy mould for the H, but i havent raced a H for a few years now. They would be my first call.
Then try rmkd maybee... not sure if he ever played with the H model tho..
AMS used to do a few bits... but again he has gone minitwins like most.
Does anyone in your club have a H box you could get a mould off?
