Oil Cooler Removal

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Oil Cooler Removal

Post by Ben Coyle Racing »

Came across a zxr 400 race bike with the oil cooler removed...

What are the benefits of this ?

Is it simple to remove ? Or are there any extra things I have to do ??

Cheers

Couldnt be easier. 4 bolts to remove and then either a blanking plate to cover the two oilways :smt001 or alternatively (if a blanking plate is a problem) - cut the two elbows off the oil lines, crimp the ends, fill with chemical metal and (after its set) whack em back on where the used to be - job done.

Benefits - weight and much easier race engine handing/ changes

So are there any downsides to having no oil cooler ?
