There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

afaik, you can still get sp cams direct from Kawasaki. certainly got one a couple years back.

Mori-man has new ZXR power kits on ebay now including SP cams...maybe he will sell them seperatly

Have you tried Cradley? They usually have them in stock.

Hi Vic. I was looking for a second hand set as I don't have the budget for new ones unfortunately.

What benefit do kent/sp cams offer? And where can I get some, as I know this is an old thread :/

They provide more power by higher lift and longer duration, helps with having head port work done to improve flow

No good for sub 64 category, as will likely push it over.

Mine has std pistons, head ported, kent cams, beet copy pipe, flat slides and ram air box and recently made 77bhp on Dyntoteks dyno.

I've got Kent and Sp cams in 2 engines, I'd say they're very similiar but it's the fact you can adjust the valve timing. I had 77 bhp at the start of the year, only did a few races but the timing must have altered due to a worn chain and tensioners cos it would only make 71, we replaced the chain etc and re set the timing and it went back up to 77bhp, adjustable cams make a massive difference in a race motor
