help, i've got a stiffy
i've just got a zxr400 sp race bike. It's got standard suspension front and rear (and linkage) although it has been re-valved (race tech) and re-sprung. I'm a lightweight (about 66 kg in leathers, helmet etc) and the bike is very stiff, with very little sag at either end when I'm on the bike- just wondering if anyone knows what weight of springs (front and rear) would be in the ball park for my weight? Racing only. Thanks

If I had to guess it would be .85 or .90 or one of each maybe in the front, a probably a 300 lb spring in the rear. Seems like this should have been taken into account when the valving was done. Was it set up for you or someone else? How much preload front and rear and how much sag without any preload?

I'm about your weight, maybe a bit lighter.. i run stock springs in my h1 racebike, dont know what the back is.. but its softer than stock (nitron shock)

Re: help, i've got a stiffy
Thanks for the replies. It was set up for a rider weighing 20kg more with 9.5kg rear and 0.9 front springs. With set up I had about 15mm rider sag on min preload settings. I'm thinking I should be using standard springs which I think are 8kg rear and 0.8kg front? Anyone else using standard springs for similar weight of rider?
