Rockingham Gearing ?

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Rockingham Gearing ?

Post by sinap »

I have entered the Thundersports race at rockingham on the national circuit, as we cant do the friday practice due to work we will be going straight into qualifying and I have never been there before, could anyone advise me on the gearing for a zxr400, I have looked on youtube and it appears not to have much of a straight, any help would be welcome.

Unfortunatley there's very little/no club racing at Rockingham prior to this weekend (I stand to be corrected) however I've heard there's a very very long fast straight! So, how did it go? what's your thoughts on the track?

Hi Greville
Thanks for your reply, you dont know me but I am sure you will know the bike, its Adam Lyons old bike, we bought it just before the Bemsee Oulton round, which was my first race on it, I had an nc29 before which was not very competative the zxr handles so much better. I have been managing to improve my lap times each time I have raced it, but I am some way off your pace. The Bemsee meetings have been really good to race in, there are some very quick riders in the 400s, which I think has made me improve my riding, my best result was a 7th at Brands. I will let you no how I get on at Rockingham which is a Thundersports meeting, they allow 440cc and slicks, could be interesting as I will be on 400cc and treaded tyres.
