Anyone been round Teeside Autodrome?

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Anyone been round Teeside Autodrome?

Post by stevezx7r »

If you have been round, what's it like? Judging by a couple of vids on the tube it looks a little worn, with a few patches. Anything to look out for at the track? What are the facilities like? I think they have a bar so they have something right.

BTW, I've managed to get a track day sorted for my brothers impending doom, I mean, 40th for £30 for a three hour sesh. He'll be in the novice group having never been on track before and I'm paying an extra £20 and I'll join the fast group.

It's been a few years since I raced so I thought I'd try and get a heads up on the track before making a fool of myself ;)

Cheers,

Steve.

Right, just got back from the track at Teesside Autodrome. Cracking little track, a few technical bits and a couple of straights - very short circuit. My brother decided to take his Aprillia Falco and I was on my zxr400. We both entered the novice group and tbh I wasn't happy with my riding at all on the first session. My brother overtook me but I managed to hang on to his back wheel while I figured the track out and sorted my head out. Second session was a different matter. I managed to get it all together and was making decent progress - left my brother by 5 seconds on one lap, then 8 seconds, then 11 so I must have been doing something right. Third session and I decided to take it a bit easier so I could study entry, mid and exit speeds a bit better. My brother called it a day after lap two as his tyres went off.

So, if anyone is in the North East and fancies a track day, Teesside Autodrome is a cracking look out. Shame it's not on over a weekend but it was a good laugh anyway.
