Unless you keep them at their optimum temperature they are like wooden wagon wheels. You will not keep them hot enough on the road. Sp's are the road equivilant as fitted to the Daytona 675. However I have lots of used SCs if you want to try them.

Are they?? I think the SC's are the softest out there and always work well on road or track. I use my old race tyres on the road and always have done - the SC is a road tyre so I'm not sure Pirelli would sell them as one if you couldnt keep heat in them on the road?
I suppose it depends what pace you are going to ride at on the road but I dont have a problem with em working.
I think too many people are getting hung up on the fact Pirelli SC's are used for racing and think they wont be any good on the road. As ive said before, they are a road tyre, not a for race use only tyre and therefore pirelli make them to work well for sports bikes.......on the road.
Racers who have to use road legal tyres like myself use them on track because they are awesome at race pace as well. I dont think this means that they are rubbish on the road and surely being softer than the SP's, they would warm up quicker and work better?

Re: pirelli diablo supercorsa longevity
i have tried many different tyres for the road to compare price and quality and to save a penny but got a set of scrubbed sc off a friend for a track day for £50 and used them on the road for a month before the track day and now dont want any thing else. deffinate confidence booster and forgiving on both track and road. only snagg is dont want to pay the best part of 300 squid each time for a new set (tight ass!!!!).
if you are riding reasonable on the road and dont take the piss "all" the time they can last quite well.
but if you will be commuting or motorway at all they will jus square off
it all depends on your riding and how but i will recomend to all for a go.
the only prob is finding part used for about 50-60 squid.
