Rad catch tank

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Rad catch tank

Post by LondonYank »

Hi guys,

Over the winter my bikes been disassembled while some work was done on the engine. Somehow the original radiator catch tank has gone missing. No doubt I can re-task an empty brake fluid bottle or similar for the purpose. Just wondering what others are using for catch bottles on their zxr race bikes? Do people generally ditch the stock unit? It seemed pretty convenient just to continue using the original part while I still had it.

Thanks for your advice,
owen

Any little plastic bottle will do so long as you can fit it into the space make sure the pipe goes to the bottom and make sure it can breath.....................

Hi,
just use any plastic bottle or aluminium can..whatever takes your fancy. Support your favourite energy drink?..Red bull have smaller cans that are perfect..a tie wrap at top, middle and bottom to secure onto your radiator (pass the tie-wrap thru the gap between the matrix and the side). Knock out the remains of the ring pull..find a grommet in your spares box that will fit nicely into the hole and cut off the hose to length. Its not a perfect round hole, so it will still breath.

Have to change my ZX6...used a placcy milk bottle for it...prefer the Red Bull!! Obviously need to look out for the bottle/can being properly secured and unable to slip out from the tie-wraps and check it regularly for tighness and level.

cheers Stu
