Bemsee Open Evening 11th Dec Brands Hatch

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Bemsee Open Evening 11th Dec Brands Hatch

Post by AgentOrange »

Is anyone else going to the Bemsee Open Evening on 11th December in the Kentagon at Brands Hatch?
I'm going to be doing my eyesight test, and signing up for the club on the night and signing up for the race school in February (21st/22nd).
It would be good to meet some other rookies or seasoned racers to get to know you before next season starts...? :gamer

Thanks for the tip off......................

I've just passed this date on to the Manx MCC to see if we can get one of the MGP ambassadors along to spread the good word about the MGP

Any other racing club open nights ? I want to know about them please :smt002

Isn't Ian Hickey a 400 roads racer? he's local and appears at bemsee events, although I think a bit less now :smt002

I plan on being there :smt001

Hi all,

I got myself along to the open night, and managed to pass my eyesight test despite a stinking cold and sneezing my face off all day. I got all my ACU and Bemsee sign up paperwork together with a rookie pack. I have to say that the club were really really helpful.. I had time to speak to the rookie rep. and was introduced to people who have raced ZXR400's (some of whome have now moved to other classes)... I got tons of useful info, and can give a big thumbs up to Bemsee for the way they've got things organised... this is all very new to me, and they couldn't have done more. If you missed the night but still want a rookie pack to read through then they're on the Bemsee website. Thanks to all of Bemsee for their help so far... I was also really impressed with their buddy up scheme for rookies so that they're not totally on their own at their first meeting.. I'm going to need all the good advice I can get!

Greville... I saw your post above saying you were going to be there, and while I was talking to Steve Jordan about suspension someone pointed you out to me... I made a mental note to go and say hi, but a few minutes later you were nowhere to be seen! ha ha ha... very sorry to have missed you, but at least I know what you look like now.. hope to get another opportunity to meet you soon, and hope you had a good night?..

My next step is to get my paperwork sent off with a photo to get my ACU license sorted with my club membership etc... then get to the race school on 21/22 Feb in the new year... can't wait! I'm already nervous, but full of excitement...

If anyone else is planning to do a season with Bemsee, especially if you live in East Sussex near me, feel free to get in touch..

Right I'm off to the shed, to do a bit more prep, just bought a steering damper on ebay and it's arrived.

That sound like a really good way to get rookies into the sport.
We could do with some of the clubs here organising something like .

ditto
i think if me and me brother had this treatment with our clubs, we would'nt of missed our first practice and race of the day with not knowing quite what to do or where to go, i would of enjoyed it more with less stress in the first few meetings, and my brother would'nt of been put off racing after the first meeting.

Its cool now we know a few people around the paddock....but if we had that connection at the get go would of been great.

Yeah, it was actually a great evening. I turned up at about 8pm and couldn't believe the amount of vehicles parked up, I assumed that there must have been another event on. The place was buzzing :smt003

I didn't go in any official capacity so perhaps the club didn't point anyone my way, and didn't meet anyone new and ended up chatting with the many people I hadn't seen since the end of the season, so sorry I didn't meet you AO, I was there until well gone the last bell :smt003

Like others have said I wish there had been something like that when I started, bemsee have moved on a long way since then, and they were good before, and have always been very innovative in the club racing world :smt003

I'm sure you'll have a great time. My plan at the moment for next year is to get the ZXR back up and running to start the season and then take it from there. But, I haven't even sat on a bike since February :smt010 So, I'll catch up with you at the season opener :excited
