racing fuel tank

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

How do these tanks mount on the bike? I was thinking about getting one from Ben but I could probably make it for what it would cost to ship it to the US.

the back of the tank is bolted through with the seat mount, the front part of the tank is shaped to fit the top of the airbox and just rests on it without being fastened, there is a picture of it on the raven performance website.

cheers alan,
Ours are one piece as tank and skin bolt together and offer about a 2.5kg weight saving,(think they are 3.5kg) cant remember exactly (Alan may correct me if im wrong) and just bolt on as said, where seat bracket is and if wanted at the front of airbox where the little cover bolts, that weight is also including a cap that comes with it, all that is needed is painting your own colour and holes drilling, and a quick release fuel clip as there is no tap on them,

They are £270 + del each but bearing in mind the quality and weight saving, mail me for pictures and also if more than 5 are ordered through here they are £250 plus del bearing in mind there are 3 people interested already.

lead time is 3 weeks from order, but if 5 are ordered this could add a few days on

£100 deposit on order and balance upon completion before sending,
Alan P

No worries mate....I'm always willing to recommend good kit.

Weight saving was just over 2.5kg although I can't remember exactly. I just remember it being over the 2.5kg you said it was so I thought fair enough and put in on!

The key benefits for me with leon's tank were a) it holds 7+ litres, b) it looks like the standard tank and c) it fills from the snazzy filler cap in the normal place and you can see inside the tank how much fuel you have left.

The tank looks really nice, now how to come up with the cash for a new tank in addition to the motor work for this year's racing season.

This thread has not had any more comments since 2011 so a very long time ago

I am struggling to find a website or contact details for raven performance and have been looking for one of these racing fuel tanks for a little while

I am posting in the hope that this may attract some attention possibly and someone out there may have one for sale as a used second hand or better yet have details for the manufacturer in order to buy one for myself for racing purposes

Would ideally look for the 7ltr version as the 5 litre may be a bit small for circuits that are max throttle open for long periods and be able to keep that 2ltr amount in the tank once race complete for technical inspections afterwards
Let the good times roll
