Do you tend to use the factory clearances or would you set them slightly looser ?
Racing Manual says .20 - .25 inlet .25 - .28 Exhaust
Road Manual says .12 - .17 inlet .16 - .21 Exhaust
Anything I need to bear in mind with stainless valves ???

Re: Valve clearances Race Engines
I split the difference and set them at
exhaust .21 - .25
inlet .17 - .20
Don't think the stainless valves will make a difference.
IIRC the road and race manual also differ where to measure, between cam lobe and rocker and valve and rocker
Think a phone call may be a good idea, most tuners are pretty helpful

Hi Wes, yes you are right - The race manual measures them directly above the shim, instead of between the cam lobe and rocker. Just spoke to afriend who did use the race settings once and said it was soo rattly he daren't rev it !
