Well got my first ZXR400, I think it is the L2 model in blue, declared manufactured 1992 on a J reg although the V5 says it's a L8? can anyone tell me where the engine number is and is there any info on which engines went in to which frames. Bought as a non starter, needs steering head bearings, wheel bearings front, swingarm bearings, a couple of tyres and oh yes it doesn't start!, plenty of power at the battery, was driven locally for an MOT and then wouldn't start at the dealer, wondering if its electric? Igniter is a 21119-1332 with the letter M, is this restricted or full power? Its also had a colour change at some point. Will do some pictures later when the sun comes out!
Cheers
Rob

Engine number is stamped just below the front of the cylinder block.
Will probably need the suspension linkage bearings doing as well if the rest are knackered.
M is full power CDI

Re: My first ZXR400
Finally got her running, found an igniter on fleabay in Belgium and when I fiited it, now had a spark but still wouldn't start although it would try, fitted a set of new Iridium plugs and she fired up right away, smoking a bit so might need some work on the head?
