H2 starting problems
just bought a new battery for my H2, filled up with acid, left it on charge, and then placed back into the back after it had charged... nothing
checked the sparkies, i've checked fuel, fuses, bumping, jumping, lights all work, indicators .. everything is fine on the bike, trust me i have checked the WHOLE bike over, it just wont start.
it did this last week with the old battery, but that was dying anyway... so the obvious thing is to go and change it.
any ideas as to what it could be?

Re: H2 starting problems
May sound a bit simple, but are you using the choke?
I remember my 50 never needing the choke, the first time i tried starting the ZXR i couldn't get it going, then i realised i was forgetting the choke

Re: H2 starting problems
Scott221 could be onto something there. When you say it won't start, do you mean the stater turns the engine over but it won't fire? Or do you mean the engine won't even crank ie the starter motor does nothing?
If it's the latter, try starting it with the clutch in and with the side stand up. Check your neutral light - it causes me some hassle sometimes, particularly if I want to warm the bike up on its stand!

Re: H2 starting problems
I dont know about the H's but the l model's are fitted with a switch that if the bike is in gear, it will not turn over, quick stand up or down. It happend to me during the first few weeks of being OTR and it had me in a bind or about an hour! Check your fuel tap as well.
Tell us exactly whats happening as well, does the starter turn over?

ok well i have tried startin it in neutral (obviously) with the stand up AND down and still wont start - wont tick over.
have tried to bump it aswell and jumping it with leads, neither of them work.
