100mph + problems

Post by Random »

Bike has problems getting past 100mph have had the full speed of 140mph out of it on my long driveway :smt002 but now since i changed the cams, rocker arms, cam chain and other little things when it get to 100mph the sounds of the engine is different sounds like its topping out. Any ideas ?

have you checked the timing? sprockets may have moved a notch when putting the cam chain back on?

Are your carbs balanced? That can slaughter your engine performance if they arent right. If its lumpy on tickover then they probably need doing.

Might be worth checking the filter, i know my ZXR sounded loads different when a new filter was put in after a service.

oh i see, hmmm, thats gonna change all sorts. Thought you would need to get it dynod at least to get it all setup properly. Stuff like that isnt going to work right away i wouldnt have thought. Could be its given you alot more midrange at expense of the top end....

dont think you need to mess with the carbs if you are just using a k&n replacement element unless you have a race system too?
