Post by steven2558 »

:smt006 hi chaps ,not been on for a while due to work commitments ....
been out on bike today for a quick blast!!
everything seemed ok for the first 1/2 hr then bike nearly stalled on tick over at traffic light but managed to keep it runnin, but all the dash lights looked dim
so i turned off main beam on the lights and bike then seemed to tick over better???when i got home i switched engine off then tried to start it again but it only turned over very slow not enough to start!!!
after leavin it about an hour it turned over and started fine?? :smt017
battery should have been fully charged b4 i went out as bikes kept plugged into a datool optimiser when not in use.....
any help would be much app.. :smt013

the optimiser said my battery was ok but it was shagged, and caused similar problems to yours.

think ive sorted it !! :smt003
it was the connector bloc to the reg/rectifier that had gettun hot and melted slightly!!
put a rec/reg off a kwak GPZ550 on it and seems to be charging ok(14.58volts @4500rpm)
thing is though regulator seems to get warm is this normal??? :smt017

Yeah its normal for them to get warm, hence they have the heat sink to cool them off :smt001
