Well after re-building the engine, replacing the gasket's and the rings. I fired up the bike.
Unfortunatly I still have exactly the same problem's as I did before. I used one of those colourtune's to see if the right mixture would help but no matter which way I turn the air screw the flame colour doesn't change.
Therefore I can assume that my problems lies after the carb's
Is it possible that there's a crack in the enginge allowing air into the cylinders and this would explain the low compression.

Re: Still sticky Rev's
have you replaced the inlet rubbers? Airbox sitting on the carbs properly?

Re: Still sticky Rev's
You can try RTV silicon to seal the rubbers & i found that they do not run very well without the airbox, even for balancing it was far easier with the box on..

Were all cylinders reading low comp? If not, which ones were?Miles wrote:Well after re-building the engine, replacing the gasket's and the rings. I fired up the bike.

could also be carbs out of balance holding the revs

Re: Still sticky Rev's
cylinders 1 - 3 were 90 psi
cylinders 2 - 4 were 105 psi
Is it possible that my ignition maybe advancing?
I did the resistance test on my IC and all the readings on A negative we're out but all the rest we're fine.
Maybe from being in the water it's shorted out?

'falloffslowly' is your man, aka Baz - 07727 943464
You can discuss with him what you want, but he can sell you a running engine which he personally has serviced with a new head gasket, valve clearnaces and cam chain.
