A little similar to the problem i had on my eliminator 125 only last week.

Check all the wires on the ignition switch as mine had come clean off on mine, just check that all the connections are good and strong.
If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

Charge the battery, switch on the ignition and fire it up (if you have a dicky starter circuit connect an car jump lead from the positive battery terminal to the starter connection --- vroom!!) btw if it is actually the solenoid then you can just 'jump' the two 10mm nuts with an OLD screwdriver - sparks like a b*ugger tho.

whens its up and running check the voltage across the pos and neg battery terminals, if over 13v youre okay but if not then you need to replace the regulator/rectifier or you have an alternator problem. To work out which, disconnect the regulator, start the bike, rev to 4000 rpms and measure the voltage across the any two wires coming to the rectifier from the alternator, cant remember the actual voltage (check the manual) but methinks its meant to be about 14.5volts or thereabouts. Important to get the revs up though cause at idle its lower.

My money is on regulator - 20 quid, second hand, fleabay, snip.

Good luck mate.
