Leaking Oil

Post by f17th »

My Sump has decided to start leaking like a leaky thing on national leakage day,

So I think i need to replace the Sump gasket, Do you know if this an engine out job ?
Does the manifold need to be removed as well ?
I Have a H1 (I think)

Shall have to do it next week sometime as am at Goodwood FOS tomoz.

Are there any tips or hints that will make my life easier when doing this ?

shouldn't think the engine would need to be dropped. Although I've not tried it, but I'm sure it will undo fine in sitchu. You will probably struggle to wiggle it out and back in because of the exhausts, make your own decision there. Tip has got to be, drain the oil first. :smt002

I think Andy is right, it should come out with the engine in but its probably easier if you take of the exhausts system. that in tuen requires you to take off the radiotor unless the system wiggles out?

page 8 of this http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/Manuals/H%20M ... er%206.pdf

just as simple as removeing a few bolts, check gasket/put some liquid sealet on there and your done.

If its cracked (overtightening the drain plug normaly) you'll need a new sump what will be a few quid from the brakers
