your bike being a track bike, have you removed the ignition switch ? cos i've heard that it has a resistor in it which is also required for correct running. just a thought.
whats the full part number of your "uk" CDI ?

Re: m-max and cdi
The original CDI was 211119-1394 V on a yellow sticker. I thought all blue ones were UK spec with a number 211119-1331 L
Im still running a full wiring loom including the ignition switch, i have removed front and rear lights, indicators etc but it has a MPH speedo which is still connected along with tacho and temp guage. It still wont rev out over 10k rpm though

Re: m-max and cdi
uk spec cdi's ive seen are 21119-1332, not 1331, so cant really comment on what your 1331 is or isnt ..
21119-1271 = H model (red sticker)
21119-1394 = import L (yellow sticker
21119-1332 = UK (non-restricted) L (blue sticker)
its possible that 1331 and 1332 are interchangeable, but i really dont know.
from the sound of it, its not an unrestricted CDI, as they dont care what speedo is connected or not-connected.
only the KPH speedo's contain the circuitry for the speed restrictor.

Can i just confirm blue sticker 21119-1332 is the only uk spec unrestricted CDI, everything else no matter what colour including blue is restricted?

Re: m-max and cdi
did you have the mph clocks etc fitted when you tested it rover220 ? if not, it would rev out fine but restrict top-speed to 180kph, (112mph)
not saying you are wrong, but in nearly 10 years ive not come across anything other than the "21119-1332 M" unrestricted box, regardless of sticker colour.

Re: m-max and cdi
mph clocks have been fitted for ages, and both cdi's rev out and both take it to beyond 120mph
