are you talking of the inlet pipe for slip-on cans?
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

If your making a "Hybrid" system then you govern what diameter's are involved.

I have tried many systems on my other 400 and all do something different in the rev range.

When i had a 60.5mm internal link pipe and can with 54mm exit it made the bike pick up very quickly and smoothly.
When it was the above with a 60.5mm exit on the can it had more low end grunt and revved out like a whippet on amphetamines :smt003 but the midrange had no life for the twisties.

A 50.8mm link pipe onto a 60.5mm can had great midrange but no feeling anywhere else :smt012
The same with a shorter can just revved out smoothly, with a DB killer it it the "kick" came back.

Have fun experimenting, I'm still at it :smt003

I try Akrapovic hexagonal for Hayabusa .Internal link on the can is 52 mm and external on the can is 52.
On the original link pipe I have lower power on the lower rpm.
Now I want to change linking pipe and I want to know can I made shorter linking pipe than original.
Lenght of can is same than stock can.

Try making can exit 60+mm

If you make shorter link pipe just make sure to account the the new alignment of the can, you might sacrifice some top end in doing so.
