Exhaust Springs

My exhaust downpipe has lost a spring on one of the pipes so sounds like a little v-twin at the moment. Any idea where I can get some new springs ie. what size they are etc?
I did a quick search on the forum but couldn't find threads.

(I'm assuming they use springs and not bolts!? If not, man am I gonna look stupid...

they are bolted on mate unless you have a race system fitted then they may have springs somewhere along the pipe.

all the springs off my micron system are missing.....any ideas where to get them from?

bugger. I thought they were bolts but saw loads of pictures of exhausts with springs. You're right though, they were all race pipes and I didn't think any different.

Any idea what size they are off the top of your head? If not don't worry, I'll hunt through the manuals.

do you mean the bolts holding the downpipes to the engine (which are probably actually nuts on studs) or the bolts holding the can on?

if it's the latter I'll whip one out and measure it when I get home.

The standard downpipes/collector are welded together aren't they?

Yeah sorry, I wasn't very clear. I mean the bolts/nuts that hold the 4 individual pipes to the engine. One of them has come loose somehow.

well I'm afraid my level of motivation doesn't extend to trying to get at those to measure them. Sure someone with a bike in bits will be able to tell you.

I'd hazard a guess that they are M6 or M8 nuts though.

Haha, I don't blame you - I've failed to take a proper look and it's my bike that's in need!

I've got a few days off so will finally have a chance to take a proper look.

theyre M6, i put new stainless ones in mine but they seemed a bit shitty and couldnt get the nuts to hold on tight enough properly so changed them with 25mm M6 bolts, they went in fine and held in good, theyre stainless as well.

Cool, cheers mate. I'll grab a few and try them out. Else, I'll have to stop being a lazy giraffe and take one of the others out!
