New downpours fitted, now smoking

Post by raybey1 »

I just fitted some new downpipes after the original ones rusted through. Just started it up for first time and there's quite a bit of bluish smoke out of exhaust. Is this normal? If not any ideas what it is?

Take it for a good long run. Its probably been sat for sometime n theres moisture trapped, you also dont know how the previous owners bike ran so could be some oil deposits in the exhaust.

Thanks for the reply.

I left it running for a while and seemed a little better. Will take it for a run tomorrow when the fairing is back on.
It is my bike and hadn't used it for a couple of months before fitting the pipes. Would it be cos they are brand new stainless ones?
