BB Plastics supply many racers. Good quality, very reasonably priced.

Re: BBplastics
That was who Dynotech use for all their race stuff. The airbox is the Kawasaki kit copy. The bellmouths also worked very well on my bike. It was extermely good quality stuff. BB (Barry Booth) sold out though to SDC, they apparently have done some good quality stuff in the past, but I've had no reports on the quality of the ZXR stuff they are now producing, but I think the price jumped up considreably, but they were very reasonably priced when Barry was producing them.

Thinking of getting the ramair box from these guys, but whats the air dam with dzus clips and whats it do? Also, are the bellmouths the same thing as velocity stacks?

Re: BBplastics
air dams redirect air to different places, usually a cooling aid, but it all depends and the website is vague. ask them about it is my best guess.Big Hoddie wrote:Thinking of getting the ramair box from these guys, but whats the air dam with dzus clips and whats it do? Re: BBplastics
a velocity stack is a bellmouth on a piece of pipe. the bellmouth is the curved bit on top that looks like the end of a bell/trumpet etc... when you stick this onto a piece of pipe, the whole assemble is a velocity stack.Big Hoddie wrote:Thinking of getting the ramair box from these guys, but whats the air dam with dzus clips and whats it do? Re: BBplastics
Ah right. Thank you so much When the 'box is mounted, you have no need for an air filter, so would fine mesh be a good way to prevent cack getting into the engine, or would that defeat the purpose of the 'box? If so, what can be used in lieu?

Re: BBplastics
if you use a ram-air on the road expect to drop your engine every 2000 miles to remove all the crap/flies/dirt/leaves that has welded itself to the top of your carbs/intake/piston/cylinder/exhaust...take your pick, wire mesh wont do anything for road debris.Big Hoddie wrote:Ah right. if you want, you could try to fit a k&n filter into the ram air, let us know how you get on.

Re: BBplastics
It's the excessive wear on the bores I'd be worried about
Complete and utter waste of time and money fitting such an airbox to a road bike.................
If you want more power buy a 600

Re: BBplastics
Ah right. So they are only good for track bikes
