UK headlight swap ZXR400

Post by RebuilderGuy »

Hi there!

So im rebuilding a zxr 400 racer, and i love the 2 eyed zxr's from the UK. So i bought an ZXR 400 UK headlight of ebayzz and i was wondering if any of you did this swap? The stock headlight has only 1 connector and the UK headlight has 2. Any advise on how to connect both lamps?

I was thinking just to buy another connector and split the wires and connect it in that way?

Let me know!

Thx!

Easiest way would be what you suggested, that's how they are on the loom anyway.

It worked just fine!

Another question: in the NON UK headlight there is a small blue bulb 12v5W. Ive installed this blue bulb in the UK headlight but its not very bright. Whats the purpose of this light?

It's called a city light, have never used mine but if you turnoff the ignition switch and then go "a bit further" than the steering lock you will turn on that light and the rear tail light.

It's supposed to make the bike more visible on dark city streets...think its legal it some Nordic countries but as I said I've never used mine.

It will also come on when you put the ignition switch to On as it is part of the circuit that turns on the rear light too.
