So with the spark plugs out and earthed to the frame (one by one) you dont get any spark of any of them?

Is the fuel pump doing it's thing?

Is fuel getting to the carbs?

Is there fuel in the tank and the tap is turned on?

the pickup coil is on the RHS of the bike, behind a metal crankshaft cover partially hidden behind the coolant expansion bottle, it will have 2 wires coming from the underneath that connect the cdi to the pickup, if your pickup is dead your cdi wont be told to fire a spark, and if your cdi is dead it wont send current to the coils so no spark.

check for faulty connections first, then go about diagnosing faulty components.
