m-max black box questions
what exactly does it do? remove the rev-limiter on import spec bikes? used search option and from what i can find this seems to be the case. i ask as i have just acquired a job lot of zxr parts which had the h model 'idiot light' loom and a black box with M-MAX on the front (silver m) on the front and produced by m parts corporation cast into the casing on the back and some japanese above it. would this be the m-max derestrictor box? and if so what are they worth? no use to me as mines a uk spec L model

Re: m-max black box questions
yep, spot on, they fool the cdi (on an import) into thinking you never exceed 180kph, so the limiter isnt activated.
ive got a few of them .. probs worth about a tenner .. its only a resistor cased in resin.

Re: m-max black box questions
Cut the pink wire from the cdi, attach a 2 watt 10k ohm resistor to it and wire the other end to ground.

Re: m-max black box questions
Correct, you wire the pink wire from the cdi to ground, with the resistor in-line
