Clocks and indicators..

Heya all, Im a tad stuck at the moment with a couple of problems.... I think my main problem might not be for this section on the forum but worth a shot. I was cleaning my bike up nice and shiny the other day and went to go give her a spin and the speedo has stopped workin ( ) I dont see how it is doing this as it was working fine b4 i cleaned her. I checked to see if i had knocked the cable and somehow caused it to come loose but it looks and feels the same as it did when it worked...... Does anyone have any ideas why this could be??

Problem 2 and a bit more relevant for the electrics side is that i brought some nice new (Not LED) bulbed indicators with some indespacers to fit. Got them all on and seemed to work fine but then after a few flashes the indicator sign on the dash would stay on solid and the indicators stopped working...... .... The guy at the bike shop (Streetbike birmingham) said that they would be fine and would not require a new relay unit.. so i have no idea why they are doing this. ( I do not have the rear indicators at the moment so could putting aftermarket ones on at the front and not the back cause this?

Any information on either subject would be very very much apreciated.

your speedo works off a mechanical driven cable so sounds like either the cable is not seated properly at the wheel end (cos its easier to check that end) unscrew it and give it a tug, if it pulls through then its snapped.

Ref the indicators sounds like the connector to the indicator relay has come loose, used to do it on mine all the time, right hand side under the seat if i remember right.

Cheers masterofinsanity....Yup, just took the speedo cable off from the wheel and its snapped about an inch or two up the line, it just came right out with no effort .. got one from ebay tho for a 5er so not sooo bad.
Ill check the relay unit 2moro see if its a bit loose. I just had a thought, when i was plugging in the new indi's the plugs on the aftermarket ones were "shorter and stubbyer" than the stock kawasaki long and thin ones, i tryed pushing the aftermarket ones in, which just fit with a slight plyer action to grip the metal to them.... could replacing the old kawasaki plugs from the loom to a more modern plug help to avoid any disconection issues?
