Still - dodgy left turns !
Thought it was the fork seal - as they were spewing oil, so replaced it - but last night when i finally got out on the bike it still seemed ot be doing it
basically if i turn the bars left and go round a left corner, they seem to want to whip away from me - feels fine going right though for some reason.
the bikes still rideable - and if i lean it into corners / swere it handles fine, its only on the left turn.
checked for paly in headset = none
and with bike in paddock play on rear bushes =none
Anyone got any ideas ???

i did think that... if the wheels weren't aligned surely right handers would be a mess aswell.RedexRobB wrote:are you ok doing left hand turns? Could be you and not your bike.
If you can have someone give it a ride and see what they think...

hi guys.
did you solve this problem in the end as my bike just developed the same symptoms :smt013 and as i'm in the middle of building a zx6r track bike i haven't the time nor the space to be pulling the 4 to bits i search of the cause.

What about tyre wear? Are they evenly worn?

Re: Still - dodgy left turns !
my tyres new (avon vipersports) just scrubbed in, been on less than 500 miles even wear all over. they were riding fine before now just getting the wierd feeling tipping in to left handers and it seems to be alot more obvious when tipping in off the throttle.
i've had the front feel like its sliding with very little lean, i can also feel a resistence/hestitation when purposely counter steering on the left handle bar.
i'm gonna check wheel alignment over the weekend as i've retensioned the chain since i had then tyres put on thats the only thing i can think of that might of changed.

Re: Still - dodgy left turns !
ive got the same tyres on mine, absolutely no problems what so ever. It could be that you dont suit the tyre, its all about feel. Also remember that on deceleration the dynamics of a bike do change.

Re: Still - dodgy left turns !
the bike just been rebuilt from the ground up so new bearings all round. its been a sudden thing just started happening and i doubt thats its me not suiting the tyres as its the second set i've had on the bike and find that the grip levels are more capable then whats possible on the road.
will have to have a look at the swingarm bearings to be sure now. another nice day for riding up missed. good job i love the mechanical side of own this bike.
anybody had swingarm bearings go poo after only a few hundred mile before?
