The standard bars are a single piece of (solid, thanks RobB) Ally bar. There are no bar end weights on the standard bars. That'd be why you can't get them off!
I think some people have fitted ZX-6R bars, which do allow you to change the bar ends.

And heres the evidence
ZX6R clip-ons will fit the 400, zxr400er had them fitted to his and put on some shitty anodised bar ends on.

what a waste of a bar end RobB you should be ashamed, that could have been used for the zxrworld bike build.

That handle bar proved a point, and it had a huge chunk off the end of it anyway

Re: Dont laugh at me lol
Not sure what year, i seem to remember the ones ZXR400er used were off a ZX6R F model or something like that. You can use the standard switch gear, you just might need to drill holes for the locating pins in the switchgear.

Re: Dont laugh at me lol
you will be able to use the 6r ones but you'll need to start cutting into the loom so up to you!
The zxr750 ones 'might' fit but i've got a feeling that the fork legs are biger

Re: Dont laugh at me lol
The ZXR400 switchgear fits straight into the bars as far as i aware, if not then its simply a case of drilling a locating hole for the pin to stop it spinning on the bar. So why would you need to hack into the loom?
