GPR steering damper for H model??

Post by 400y »

Hi
Can you get a GPR steering damper for ZXR400 H model or an equilivant type of damper. I prefer the GPR because its easier adjusted when riding. This is for a race bike.

Cheers

Never once have I felt the need to adjust my steering damper during a race.

Could you explain under what circumstances you need to do this.

Oh and try the GPR website for help and or advice regarding fitting................I've never seen on a ZXR H or L

As long as you get the right fitting kit and stroke on the damper you can fit anything you want.

Most ZXR & NSR race users have the adjuster hidden up in the cowl as there is no speedo so loads of room , as cargo says very unlikely you will need to adjust during a race - FP & QP is when you adjust it for that track.

In saying that, look at a pic of my bike - think I done a specific post on the steering damper I have fitted , the adjuster is at the rear (carb side) so easily accessible and adjustable while riding but have never had to do.

Only time my damper isn't on the 1st notch is when I am putting it into the shed - stops the front end drifting while I am pushing it in from the back and getting the paddock stand on it.

I love the GPR dampers - have one on both race bikes GSXR600 and SV650. Handy when getting turned up the return road at the Manx to slacken off the damper a bit - tight enough to turn back up that bit of tarmac biggrin

Maybe get something worked out.

Thanks for the help.

And how do you get round Govnenors dip ? :smt017

In all honesty you shouldn't need the damper turned up that stiff.

I know I like to feel the bike shake it's head a little keeps me honest..............?

each to his own I suppose

you doing the Manx again ?
