H1 Fork Alternatives

Post by Chazzman_bm »

Hi folks and Merry Christmas,

A while ago I sent my front forks to Gareth at Reactive Suspension to get rebuilt and upgraded for track use. Unfortunately, I'm told the forks are bent beyond repair and the stanchions are too badly pitted so I need another set of forks. If H1 forks appear on eBay, they are usually worse for wear and will probably be in need of a rebuild anyway so I'm wondering if anybody knows what else will fit.

Does anybody know if anything from a different bike will fit? Maybe something from a ZX6R? I'm a heavy bugger so I'd like to start with something that's already good.

Thanks peeps.

Chazz.

H2 forks will fit, as will C1 zx6 radial forks, but you'll need the bottom yoke machined to fit them.

You could just get a complete front end from another bike?

I've been eyeing up an srad 750 front end. Forks can be shortened if required so your only concern is getting appropriate bearings for the head.
