fork leaking oil

Post by bsrhkr »

hello people :smt006 right i just noticed that one of the forks is leakin oil, so i think the seals needs to be changed. ok i had a look at the forum and there is a way of doin it BUT i was wondering ( i knw this is a stupid question but im new to that kinda stuff) if im takin the forks off, obv i cant use the paddock to hold the bike straight so what did u or would u use to hold the bike straight? and do u think i should give the bike to a local dealer or some sort of specialised person who could do it for money? thanks

cradleys quoted me £80 for the seals to be done all in, if the forks were taken off the bike and posted to them. As for keeping the bike, If you have crash bungs then an axle stand under each one works. Or if the fairing and exhaust are removed you can support the bike from under the engine, or if you want to spend some money, get a headstock front paddock stand. Think you need to remove the front headlight fairing otherwise you'll crack it.
These things are sent to try us!!

I learnt that the hard way! LOL.

I would spend out on the head stock stand makes everything so much easier
